SAMSUNG’S ADVENT INTO 64-BIT ARCHITECTURE PHONES

Nearly a month ago, Google announced that it will release a version of Android that can be run on 64-bit processors. Benchmarking app GFXBench has said that the upcoming Samsung phone SM-G5308W will have a 64-bit CPU architecture. As upto now, iPhone 5S is the only phone the world that uses a 64-bit processor.

About Samsung SM-G5308W’s features

This new Samsung phone will run on the Snapdragon 410 application processor and use the Adreno 360 GPU for graphics. The processor speed of this phone is expected to be around 1.2 GHz. The screen will be a 5 inch display with 540x960p resolution. It will use Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS. The RAM will be 1 GB and it will use 8 GB for internal storage. The front camera will have a resolution of 2 MP and that of the rear camera is 8 MP. According to GFXBench Samsung is coming up with this phone to compete with the HTC One Mini 2 and the Sony’s upcoming phone Sony Xperia Z3 Compact.

Features and specifications of SM-G8508S

In addition to this, it is also coming up with a phone that has been codenamed SM-G8508S. This phone comes with a 4 inch display with a resolution of 720p. It uses Android 4.4(KitKat) as its OS. It will be powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. It contains a 2GB RAM and a 16GB internal storage. The camera comes with a resolution of 12 or 13 MP which will enable you to take high-definition and great quality pictures.

There has been no official announcement made by the company about the release date of these phones. They are still under development and testing but it is expected to be released soon. Samsung has been a major force to be reckoned with in the phone market. With this advent into a 64-bit architecture phone, it is clear that they want to establish their position as major player in the market.
